Thanks, Zach. That's my motto: Compelling Writing About Bands You're Not Going to Listen To. Actually, I may need to make that into a banner for my site.

You should read Dan's whole ballot, which is awesome as always:

http://sausagemahoney.typepad.com/sausage_mahoney/2010/01/2009-back-by-popular-demaaaand.html

Dan is definitely not from No For An Answer, but he is in Cali!

I will have many more links in soon. I just need a solid half hour to do them.

Man,I was cranky (and a bit incoherent) this year..
As always, big ups to Jens for forging the soul of my people in the smithy of his general testiness. And to Dan Purcell, who I don't know and always think is the guy from Youth of Today or Dan from No For An Answer (seriously. Every year), for writing compellingly about bands I'm not going to listen to but enjoy reading about when it's Dan or Tris doing the writing.
And, of course, thanks,Tris, for giving me something to look forward to on the internet. Besides Sluggo Saturdays of course.

Man, I love the miscellany day. Thank you all for maintaining my faith in this enterprise, and for motivating me to stay at it in MMX.

I assume Christopher Amann wasn't taking his "no underground left anymore" comment too seriously, but I won't believe it even 1% until, for example, the next Twilight movie has Cheer-Accident barreling around curves in 53/16 time; Septic Flesh doing its growls and chorale-of-the-undead over blast-beats; and Circulatory System puree-ing Smile, Sgt. Pepper, and three truckloads each of cotton-candy and horseradish.

If that *does* happen, I promise to watch said Twilight sequel at full price on opening weekend. Alone in the theater.

[...] Allow me to turn over the floor to Zachary Lipez: “I understand whatever girl may feel the need to say Lady Gaga to this question. Shit can get pretty intense out there. Any GUY who answers Lady Gaga, however, is trying to impress whatever female may be helping you proofread this. Are you going to let that disingenuous graduate school prick, that emo singer in castrato’s clothing, that wikipedia skimming WEASELWORD do that to you,Tris?! He’s fucking lying. There’s NOTHING sexier than borderline ugly girls who make themselves hot by sheer force of will. Noth. Ing. Dig? Lose that dude as a friend, Tris, he’s an Iago in waiting.” I feel the need to assure Zack that Lady Gaga is A-OK in my house. Your predictions and commentary on Miscellany, Page Two!
